SALE AWAY ... Wigglesworth left for a fresh start
RICHARD WIGGLESWORTH says he left Sale for Saracens to help him force his way back into the England first team.
The scrum-half has fallen behind Ben Youngs and Danny Care in the pecking order but performed well in the midweek team on the recent tour to Australia.
Wigglesworth, 27, said: "There's great competition in the Sarries squad at scrum-half, with Neil de Kock and Kevin Barrett.
"I now want to challenge myself to be a better player.
"Hopefully, that will lead to more honours and me forcing my way back into an England shirt.
"It was a massive decision to leave Sale. I'd been there nine years. But Saracens is a club going places. I want to be part of it.
"I felt if I hadn't left Sale when I did, I probably never would have. I want to hear new voices, win trophies and enjoy myself along the way - and Saracens ticked all those boxes."
