Budget ... look good for less

Budget ... look good for less

LOOKING gorgeous takes a bit of effort but it doesn't have to take a lot of money.

Beauty companies are wising up to the fact we love to look fabulous but don't want to break the bank.

There are loads of fantastic products available that don't cost a fortune.

Here SUE MOXLEY rounds up her favourite buys for beauty on a budget.

FACE

When choosing a foundation or concealer, it's important to select products that will not dry out your skin.

Primark Beauty launched 18 months ago and its concealer, Ta Ta For Now (£2.50, Primark), is one of the best-sellers. For foundation, try Natural Collection Colour Foundation (£1.99, Boots). It comes in a choice of five shades so you should find one to match your skin tone.

EYES

With eyeshadow, look out for products that give a good depth of colour when you apply them.

We love All About Face (£1.49, Tesco) which has an impressive ten shades including blue, gold, neutrals and pinks.

For perfect blending and shading try H&M's Duo Eyeshadow (£2.99) in five different shades.

When it comes to eyeliner pencils, you need a product that will deliver precise colour without pulling at the sensitive skin around the eye.

Try Essential Colours Eyeliner Pencil (£2.50, Marks & Spencer) which comes in a lovely vibrant Jade shade or Collection 2000 Khol Eyeliner Pencil (£1.99, Boots) in a smoky black.

W7 have a great Two-Step Mascara (£2.50, magicmakeup.co.uk) with a white coat to thicken the lashes before the black overcoat is applied. Or try Whiplash Mascara (£2, from Primark).

CHEEKS

You need to choose a bronzer or blusher that's easy to blend so you can build up the colour gradually. All About Face Blusher (£1.49, Tesco) in rose, coral or bronze is great.

Alternatively, try George Liquid Tint in Rose (£3, Asda) which is a beautiful English rose shade.

LIPS

There are so many fabulous glosses and lipsticks out there at great value prices.

Some of our favourites for unbeatable value include Make Up Academy Lipstick (£1, Superdrug) which comes in five shades and Miss Sporty Ultra Shine Lipgloss (£2.99, available nationwide), a lip balm and a lip gloss in one that comes in four great neon shades.

Or try E.L.F. Candy Shop Lip Gloss (£1.50, eyeslipsface.co.uk) which comes in six shades.

NAILS

For an incredible range of colours try Barry M Nail Paint (£2.95, barrym.co.uk) which has an astonishing 56 shades to choose from.

Or E.L.F. Nail Polish (£1.50, eyeslipsface.co.uk) available in 29 shiny shades.
