FRIENDLY VISIT... Coyle
OWEN COYLE knows he will be back in the real world for the next three days - after spending the last week in Real's.
The Bolton boss has already signed 19-year-old defender Marcos Alonso from Spanish giants Real Madrid, now he's trying to add talented teen winger Rodrigo Moreno, too.
Those deals will go on the back burner as he prepares for friendlies against two of his old clubs, at Falkirk today and St Johnstone on Monday - and Coyle is prepared to face a reality check on a flying visit back to Scotland.
He revealed: "We only came up yesterday afternoon because we've had such a hectic itinerary.
"I've had an incredible amount of work in trying to bring new players to Bolton. I was delighted to unveil Marcos at the Reebok on Tuesday.
"We had to work very hard at it and there have been a lot of phone calls to Spain over the last two weeks.
"This is a player that could have stayed at Real Madrid or joined Benfica, and there were other big clubs in for him but he decided to come to us."
Alonso will not feature against Falkirk today and Coyle added: "We have to recognise that he has come from a differenent culture and needs time to settle in."
Coyle will come up against two old friends at Falkirk and Perth but knows that both Steven Pressley and Derek McInnes will make life tough for the Premiership side.
He said: "Steven and Derek don't do friendlies. They are two competitive guys.I bring teams to Scotland for pre-season as I know they will get a tough examination.
"That is just what we need right now. We were a bit sluggish in midweek when we lost at Oldham after being in America.
"Their body clocks have been struggling to adapt but both the preparation and work we put in in North America lasts us for the rest of the campaign."
